A me-to report. My system is a Dell Latitude E6400 laptop with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS after an upgrade from 10 (with all current updates). After the upgrade, the system will not resume from suspend. Upon resume, the screen is lit/on, but black. The keyboard is completely unresponsive. Ctrl+Alt+F1 does not work. Caps Lock does not even work! (i.e. the Caps Lock LED on the keyboard does not illuminate).
The possible solution by pbn above does not work. Oddly, if I move terminal to Ctrl+Alt+F1, and run sudo pm-suspend, wait and resume, then the screen will flicker once and show the terminal for a split second. After this, the screen turns black again, keyboard unresponsive etc. Screen is backlit. Sometimes, after 20-30 seconds the backlight turns on and off for second. Suspend/resume worked splendidly on this system prior to the update to 12.04. Would suspend/resume for weeks on end. Seems this bug is affecting many users on different systems (but same kernel; 3.2.0). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/999638 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 - won't resume from suspend.
