I'm changing this back to "confirmed", because I've provided all the information I _can_ provide, and otherwise this would just expire.
How the importance can be "medium" when you are forced to reboot almost every time you unplug the mouse, is beyond me. By the way this has been happening very, very often lately, and I hadn't ever experience it at all until recently, so I suspect this is some regression. Actually it _may_ be related to suspend/resume. When I unplug the mouse and replug it and it doesn't work, I usually can't tell for sure whether it's the first time I unplug/replug after a suspend/resume.
