Hi, I am experiencing something thelike. It appears that my system randomly select either a bigger or a smaller font size as default. This font size change is not visible in all applications, but I first notice it in the user/password field in GDM. It is also noticeable in Matlab. I have a small feeling that rebooting from Windows directly to Ubuntu usually gives me the smaller font size, but it can happen when booting from powered off state aswell.
I am running Ubuntu Feisty 7.04 on 2.6.20-16-generic. Chris: Did your font size change permanently? If so, I should file a new bug about this.
