HI, My friend's laptop has the same problem. We installed Ubuntu 6.10 from CD, and immediately upgraded to Feisty. After the upgrade, when we rebooted the laptop, it booted but we just get the 'busy' mouse cursor and a blank screen. presumably gdm hangs.
