I do not want to eliminate the panel-shadow completely, but I might do that, 
because the shadow showing everywhere (Stack Switcher, Cube, etc.) is making 
things really ugly.
mnrl, thanks for pointing to a possible workaround, I did not think about the 
shadow being a simple texture one could simply make transparent :)
