This is a side-effect of using dpkg --compare-versions to compare kernel
versions, and dpkg prints the (harmless, but I admit, a bit scary)
warning because it's generally used to compare package versions (where
underscore is an illegal character in .deb versions).

I've committed a fix upstream[1] for this, and it should find its way
into the latest Ubuntu devel release soon enough.
