Public bug reported:

Steps to Reproduce:
 * Make sure the close tab button is on the right side of the browser window
(about:config: browser.tabs.closeButtons = 3)
 * Open a lot of tabs (empty tabs by pressing Ctrl+T many times is enough)
 * Press the mouse button to the 'X' icon and hold it
  -> one tab closes
  -> sometimes even more tabs close at this time. It feels like holding Ctrl+W
on the keyboard but I'm only using the mouse. *
 * Release the mouse button (not too fast after pressing it)
  -> another tab closes

Solution:
The close action should be executed only once, either when pressing or by
releasing the button.

*) I have no clue about the behavior that multiple tabs close when just
holding the button. It remembers to Bug 683159 but that one seems to be
explicitly for TouchPad users.
