Sir, As I had read somewhere (I have forgotten where), the problem of shadow appearing seems to have disappeared after I created another user in My Xubuntu system. Earlier I was the only user. Now after creating another user, I do not seem to have this problem of AppMenu showing shadows, eventhough disabled. I do not know how they are connected, but there seems to be some link.
