Public bug reported: This is a reinstall following a crash on 12.04 upgrade from previous install of 11.10. Previous install was working fine (not to my standards but there were no major problems), up until last night when i began the upgrade for 12.04. I fell asleep during its processes and awoke to find it stuck about halfway through the distribution upgrade install with the last line on terminal showing something along the lines of x tmp dir with a cursor after it. the screen had turned off which i suppose crashed the install. now i am unable to boot into ubuntu whatsoever, and have tried reinstalling now 3 times and this is the first its allowed me to make bug report. This is being ran on an eMachines t2692, I have had other problem that i posted in forum and noone has attempted to resolve. the machines is equipped with an intel i845 graphics, intel celeron processor, 2gb ddr ram, and a 60 gb hard drive. The previous install was done from the same usb used during this one. I dont mean to whine but my experiences with ubuntu have been much less than satisfactory and not nearly as well as i was told it would be. there seems to be no beginners method for understanding how to develop the system to work for user.
