If you like, please do so. However, I would say that upstream is at least aware of the idea… this bug: Reported by Martin Pool on 2007-09-22 and from distcc(1): AUTHOR distcc was written by Martin Pool <m...@sourcefrog.net>, … ;-) > There is an > option to run over ssh but this has a noticeable performance cost. Given that ssh can now share connections, I'd say that performance cost is very little if a connection to the distcc-server is shared. Rather than implementing another key-sharing auth system in distcc is better to investigate whether current versions take advantage of ssh connection sharing and/or can be adapted to do so more effectively (such as by maintaining a background connection for some period between invocations). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144008 Title: should use a shared key to protect against unauthorized access To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/distcc/+bug/144008/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
