This is hilarious, indeed. No idea what is going on at the moment. What is it like when you run apt-get install --no-install-recommends boinc-client ? And what does apt-get install --no-install-recommends boinc-manager say?
Anyway, I do not see any link to ntfsprogs or odbcinst either way. What if you install something very different, like git or so. Or gitk ? Do you see such a swarm of packages, too?
