Public bug reported: Hello! I just installed Ubuntu 12.04, and i was dissapointed to find that simply using Chrome terribly overheated the MacBook Air 2,1. I even used a cooling pad, and it becomes too hot to be touched. Also, after it overheats, the GUI freezes. However, ctrl + alt + f1 to f6 works. And if i press ctrl + alt + f7, everything is back to normal for a few minutes. Then it freezes again.
I installed Fedora 17, and had the exact same problem. Now I'm typing from 12.10. SAME problem. OS X is working perfectly. I'm now updating the OS, maybe it will help. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1023077 Title: MacBook Air overheating and freezing.
