Public bug reported:

What is expected: the messaging menu should conform to the Ambience theme and
display using a dark grey background and light-coloured text.
What actually happens: the messaging menu appears with a light background,
light text and dark dividers.
Steps to reproduce: 1. Load the Unity shell
                                       2. Open the messaging menu or the user
menu

Note: Before updating to 12.10 I was using Radiance theme (light
coloured) and after updating switched to Ambiance. It may be not visible
if directly updating using ambience.
