Copying the *.hex firmware files over to /lib/firmware should not be able to 
help, as there is not yet a mechanism exists to load them. But adding your 
device ID to /sys/bus/usb/drivers/btusb/new_id is the pre-requisite to make it 
work, and the fact that you have boot to windows as you said in #72 has the 
side-effect of loading the bluetooth firmware.
