Thanks for the bug report. I can confirm that enabling greeter-show- manual-login results in the behavior above. This appears to be some sort of drawing bug in unity-greeter, so I am going to move the bug to that package.
After adding a few more debugging lines, the only difference I noted between the guest/user entries and the login entry is that the login entry is added 3 times. And indeed, bailing out of UserList.add_entry if the user already exists fixes the graphic corruption, and the password entry successfully appears. Further investigation will be required to figure out why. ** Package changed: lightdm (Ubuntu) => unity-greeter (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: unity-greeter (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1025652 Title: greeter-show-manual-login is not correctly handled by lightdm To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-greeter/+bug/1025652/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
