yes i have to wait for about 1 minute for a page to load and everytime i
scroll down. and that is the point. i don't have to wait if i use 'xpdf'. i
really think this has to be sorted in evince as it is the default  program
in ubuntu for pdf files. also it would be preferable that evince can read
*.chm files as very many e-bokks on ubuntu beginers are in chm format.
