That could be applied to any program that people usually use, even
Firefox or a music app.  I think it isn't appropriate for individual
apps to launch themselves on login.  The desktop environment should
take that responsibility in a way that is consistent for all apps, in
one place.

At the very least, an app should have an option to launch itself.  It
shouldn't require command line gymnastics to disable (and I say this
as one who uses terminals frequently).
