but the screenshot explained it all.
I can confirm this.

Simple scan works perfectly using menus and button commands, I can scan
photos and text.
- Steps taken:
- 1. I enable HUD through "Alt" key
- 2. typing "scan": it suggests me the correct action "Document -> scan ->
photo" or "Document -> scan ->text".
- 3. hit "ENTER" key or click with the pointer on the suggested menu voice.
- 4. nothing happens

- Launching Simple scan from the terminal and repeating the same steps
- does not print any debug information.
