Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

Steps to reproduce:
1) go to "system > preferences > screensaver"
2) uncheck "lock screen when screensaver is active"
3) close
Then, when the screensaver goes on and you move the mouse or press a key to
resume your session, you are prompted for your password even though the
checkbox in step (2) is unchecked.

I solved this by changing the gnome-power-manager options like so: I
opened gconf-editor, navigated to "/apps/gnome-power-manager/" then
unchecked "lock_on_blank_screen" and checked
"lock_use_screensaver_settings". so now the screen locking follows the
behavior set in the screensaver gui as it should have in the first
place.

This is a fairly small bug, and the solution is to make sure
"lock_use_screensaver_settings" is checked by default in Gnome.

** Affects: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu)
