I can confirm: Fiesty 7.04 2.6.20-16-386 CD-ROM: Mitsumi FX4830T CD-ROM can run Knoppix w/no problems. However, attempts to install from the Feisty Alternate CD halts with/no CD-ROM found etc. Brought up a spare hard drive w/Feistly already installed and it does not find the CD-ROM drive. Replaced with a Panasonic Matshita SR-8583 DVD-ROM (5X/32X) and the CD-ROM drive is instantly recognized and works.
