Thanks for reporting this bug. ComPerkins, the X errors you see are actually separate from the 'APT database could not be opened' error reported by Robb but as long as you found a workaround don't worry about it.
Robb, does this error still persist or has it disappeared with subsequent upgrades? Is there any particular set of steps to reproduce the bug? From your original report it seems that you observe the error every time you start Adept_manager. It's a bit tricky to figure out what might be causing this, that error dialog isn't very informative unfortunately. Just thinking out loud now but does apt-get still work from the commandline? Also, I found bug 63093 which suggests that this error could be caused by a bad line in /etc/apt/sources.list. Might be worth looking at. ** Changed in: adept (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Richard Birnie Status: New => Incomplete -- adept_manager db cache unopened https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109604 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
