I'll mark this as invalid. It's right that the log files mentioned in Dave's bug report are not rotated by logrotate.
The reason is that sysklogd already comes with cron jobs to rotate these files itself. So logrotate is not needed to rotate these files too. If logrotate would include these logs they would get rotated two times, once by logrotate and once by sysklogd's cron jobs. Also sysklogd and anacron are part of every default installation, so the mentioned log files get rotated and the default configuration very sane in this regard without an additional dependency on a log file rotater liker logrotate.
