Public bug reported:

With a default Edgy install, hibernate doesn't resume when splash is
part of the boot parameters. When I remove it, the computer resumes as
normal.

Reproduce:
Start up the computer normally, (just leave splash in boot parameters).
Hibernate
Power on the computer again: Some kind of hang happens, it doesn't resume.

Fix:
Start up the computer normally, (just leave splash in boot parameters).
Hibernate
Power on the computer again and press e to edit grub boot option. Then remove
splash from the kernel line and press b to boot.
Computer resumes.

** Affects: usplash (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Untriaged
         Status: Unconfirmed
