I think it would make it a lot nicer if the configuration mirrored Apple's configuration. I'm not sure about usability issues for people used to it, but I just bought a new Macbook and Apple's way of using it was way more intuitive than the way it's configured in Ubuntu. In particular, the TwoFingerScroll options should be enabled by default.
