Public bug reported: I'm using last packages from quantal. Gnome does not starts anymore here. While opened from lightdm or kdm, it simple backs to display manager.
Already tryed install my nvidia card driver manually and using jockey, but sounds the problem isn't my video driver. I can open a problematic gnome old version, where mutter isn't loaded. Opening a terminal window, I can use "mutter --replace" and mutter opens, but if i try move the window, gnome crashes. Similar problems happens while trying use "gnome-shell --replace" The error I can see: (mutter:1443): Clutter-WARNING **: Whoever translated default:LTR did so wrongly Xorg logs aren't useful for me, and I already have the dbg packages for mutter and gnome-shell. I don't know where get more information about the problem. If I go to a terminal and put "startx /usr/bin/gnome-shell -- :1", gnome opens, but I just try open nautilus and crashes again. The error I receive at terminal: (gnome-shell-calendar-server:6754): Gdk=WARNING **: gnome-shell-calendar-server: Fatal IO error 11 (nautilus:6871): Gdk=WARNING **: nautilus: Fatal IO error 11 Some more information: $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu quantal (development branch) Release: 12.10 $ aptitude versions gnome-shell Package gnome-shell: i 3.5.4-0ubuntu2 Let me know if I can paste some more information about this problem.
