Confirmed. You have to set LAUNCH_AT_STARTUP=true in /etc/default /mldonkey-server, which is pretty counterintuitive. Even then, though, it won't start because MLDONKEY_DIR is unset in that file. I suspect it'll want the rest of the file filled in as well. We should probably put reasonable defaults in this file.
