Public bug reported: I'm reporting this here because it is very similar to bug #872932, on different hardware (dell latitude e6510).
Ubuntu keeps dimming the screen, seemingly at random times. If I go into the options to "Brightness and Lock" it still shows the requested brightness level, but I have to change it to get back to that brightness level (by moving the slider or FN+brightness keys). The option to "Dim screen to save power" is turned off. The problem occurs both when plugged in and when not.
