Public bug reported:

I would like to include two UI fixes in the next indicator-messages
release (due later today):

1. unread message counts are not drawn as lozenges

This is a regression from Precise and one of the defining visual
features of the menu.

2. messaging menu should be hidden when no applications use it (bug
#1045039)

The new design doesn't include the "Set up..." items anymore. This fix
hides the menu when it would otherwise be empty.

Can we please make a ui freeze exception for those two?
