For those who switched to Gnome-Shell (as I did): I wrote an extension to change the behaviour described in this bug on Gnome-Shell's Dash (=left side icon bar in overview): https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/440/workspace-separation-on-dash/ It's for Gnome-Shell 3.4, if you are running another version of Gnome-Shell and want to test it, just send me a mail, I'm also interested knowing if it is compatible to all Gnome-Shell Versions: bazonbloch ät arcor.de
