I get the same error message logged periodically, though the install was OK and I haven't suffered a system crash (yet). The circumstances under which the error appears are not yet clear (I've only had the machine a week or so). There was one occasion when K3b crashed, but it wasn't actually writing to the DVD at the time.
However, I don't have SATA disks. The IDE bios settings I have are all set to 'auto' (PIO mode, UDMA mode, and Access mode). The cdrom is hdg on a Promise PCI card that also has a Seagate HD (hde). MB is Asus M2N-E. The one onboard IDE channel has two Maxtor disks (hda, hdb) AMD64 X2, nVidia 7600 PCIe Ubuntu 6.06.1 -- Installation hangs at hda: cdrom_pc_intr: The drive appears confused (ireason=0x01) https://launchpad.net/bugs/48634 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
