I too, have a PCMCIA hard drive (KINGSTON DP-PCM2/5GB, V2.11 B, max PIO2) that is not recognized for access after booting. I'm running Kubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04 on a Toshiba Satellite P105-S6147 laptop.
