in the Ubuntu Desktop Guide for Ubuntu 12.04.1, on the page "Use the launcher 
to start applications"
there is no reference on how to configure the "Auto-hide the Launcher" function 
in the section "Customize the launcher"

The place to configure the "Auto-hide the Launcher" function is in the 
following location in Ubuntu 12.04.1:
System Settings | All Settings | Appearance ... on the "Behaviour" tab.
