This is also reproducible in Disks aka Disk Utility aka gnome-disk-
utility.

Steps:
1.  Select target disk on the left.
2.  Click the gears button in the top right.
3.  Select "Format Disk"
4.  Choose any settings
5.  Click "Format"
6.  Wait 10-15 seconds for error to appear
*Note:  This is only reproducible if there is an existing partition table on 
the device.  These steps will not reproduce the issue if the partition table is 
clear, e.g. after a secure erase.
