Public bug reported:

Hi,

Those times Gnome-shell seemed to beat records: it crashes twice a day,
system fonts sometimes change randomly, and so do GTK theme. I guess
this is a problem of old configurations files that make Gnome-shell
choose them at random, then changing it at run time… I don't know.

Today, I cannot interact with Gnome-shell with my mouse: none of the icons in
the top bar are responding to any click (I'll thus be forced to quit this
session by typing “sudo halt” in a terminal), not does the calendar or the
session button (the one with my name).
Ctrl+Alt+Up/Bottom arrow works to change desktop, but the key mapping to
increase or decrease sound volume are simply ignored, and so do my customized
shortcust—such as “Alt+F3” to open a terminal.
When I press “Super” to switch to the “global view” of Gnome-shell, I can still
change desktop using my keyboard, but not by clicking on the desktop at the
right. If I click on a window, nothing happens: the mouse just does not
interact at all with Gnome-shell. If i repress “Super”, it works to get to the
normal state, but I really thought I won't be able to do it without the mouse
for some minutes!

I'd be happy to help you by adding any information to this bug repport.
I've heard that the next version of Ubuntu is far from being stable now:
do you want me to upgrade Ubuntu to Qantzal to check if Gnome-shell is
still that buggy in this new version of Ubuntu? As I'm using my laptop
for professionnal purposes, I wouldn't really appreciate to switch to an
even more unstable system, but if that's the only way to solve this bug,
I'm willing to do it ;-)

Thanks for your help and for this beautiful software!
Martin.
