The upgrade today (perhaps libgtk3.0 - I forget which one seemed to address an issue with network printing) seems to have resolved this issue. I was able to print this morning and the status in the printers window no longer shows corruption. I am still seeing the no history message in the printer feedback at the bottom of the printers window; however, the warning is not showing up in the error log. Looking at the cups error log I am also no longer seeing the error related to cupsfilters.drv. I do continue to receive:

Please feel free to close this issue as resolved by another issue or not a cups bug as appropriate. If the problem re-surfaces I can create another issue.
