Public bug reported: First, let me note that the "fglrx-installer" package doesn't appear in the repositories (default) that I'm using, so I assume that I'm supposed to just install the "fglrx" package directly.
When I try to install the closed-source AMD driver for my laptop graphics chip (AMD FirePro M7740), I get the following: cjc@awesome:~$ sudo aptitude install fglrx The following NEW packages will be installed: fglrx{b} The following packages are RECOMMENDED but will NOT be installed: fglrx-amdcccle 0 packages upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded. Need to get 66.0 MB of archives. After unpacking 207 MB will be used. The following packages have unmet dependencies: fglrx : Depends: xorg-video-abi-11 which is a virtual package. The following actions will resolve these dependencies: Keep the following packages at their current version: 1) fglrx [Not Installed] Accept this solution?
