Just letting you know that python-minimal-2.6.5-0ubuntu1 is still the latest version in Lucid, and this bug is still present. This bug is a year old, Lucid is still LTS, and a patch is available.
And it is a bug. This causes an error message when installing any package that depends on pycompile, which many python packages do.
