There is still a problem on Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise) version, package gromit 20041213-9
at the first drawing (first press of the mouse button) a straigth line start for the up left corner of the screen to the press button point, and then follow the mouse until mouse button is released. At second drawing (press again left mouse button), a line come from the last point (where the mouse button was released) to the clicked point and then drawing follow the mouse until the button is released. etc..
