Public bug reported: OS version: Xubuntu 12.04.1
Effects: Many programs crash or do not start at all, including the xfce4-terminal. gksu and xfrun4 will crash as soon as you try to write anything. Oddly enough leafpad will let you delete but, as soon as you try to write something, it too crashes. Steps to reproduce: 1. download a cursor theme 2. open its index.theme and, given that <cursor_theme> is the name of the theme's folder, add the line: Inherits=<cursor_theme> 3. make it the default x-cursor-theme 4. log out, log back in Reversal (only works if you can get writing permissions for the index.theme file): Simply open the index.theme file again and remove the "Inherits" line (this can be accomplished with leafpad since you can still delete). ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1058780 Title: [Xubuntu] Cursor themes can cripple the system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1058780/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
