Binary package hint: laptop-mode
The laptop-mode package does not attempt to put the AC97 sound card (if
present) into a power saving state. This is achieved by running the
following command as root:
echo 1 > /sys/module/snd_ac97_codec/parameters/power_save
This would be a fairly easy way to increase battery life for some
people.
