There are no reverse dependencies, so it wouldn't affect anything else,
and should be safe to do.

But someone would have to do the work to to prepare the upload, and test
it, etc. We can't really make a decision until there's something to look
at.

That's not enough to justify a new upstream release, two weeks before we
release.

So, quite honestly, this looks unlikely to happen.
