======================= 1. g++ symlink not created in /usr/bin directory, when the package g++-4.7 was manually install (sudo apt-install g++-4.7) Remedy: sudo ln -s /usr/bin/g++-4.7 /usr/bin/g++ ======================== 2. g++ is usually not installed as usually. Entering g++ in terminal suggests only pentium-builder package, which unfortunately does not provide installation of any package that contains g++ ======================== ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: g++-4.7 4.7.2-2ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-17.26-generic 3.5.5 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-17-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri Oct 5 08:15:22 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal" - Beta amd64 (20120926) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=sk_SK.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gcc-4.7 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: gcc-4.7 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug quantal running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1062043 Title: no symlink for g++ is created when g++-4.7 package manually installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gcc-4.7/+bug/1062043/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
