This bug affects me also... Two times a day I need to get to the tty1 and manually kill X Server because it hangs (or Compiz crashes and I lose window decorating. It seems that it occurs when I start a lot of intensive apps (like Firefox with ~12 tabs, Thunderbird and Gimp).
I am using Dell N5040 and this kind of usage (Firefox with ~12 tabs etc.) was just fine on 12.04.
