I am actually able to reproduce the bug. This bug occurs to me only when
I pull out the LAN cable from my laptop while the system is going into
the suspended mode. So I am going ahead to try the latest upstream
kernel from the path " http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/v3.6.2-quantal/ "and see if the bug exists upstream.

Steps to reproduce the bug:-
1) Boot normally into the system.
2) Connect to the internet/local area netwok using the lan cable.
3) click on suspend using the drop-down menu on top-right corner.
4) pull out the lan cable BEFORE system goes into suspended state.
5) system suspends
6) try to resume but it won't be able to do so.
7) force shutdown the system.
