To my mind this looks like a kernel bug that got only introduced in ubuntu. Also I have the feeling that something is going wrong during the shutdown process. As noted before If I boot into a working upstream kernel, I am able to boot into a »broken« ubuntu kernel. But I am not able to boot from a »broken« ubuntu kernel into a »broken« ubuntu kernel. I hope it is clear what I am trying to say. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1066228 Title: 8086:0162 After updates quantal doesn't boot into graphics mode on my ivybridge system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1066228/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
