Ok - I have a possible explination of why this problem is not more widespread.
My Ubuntu 12.10 x64 system, clean install was booting just fine... until i started to activate the Mobile Broadand (GSM) connection. The WiFi / Bluetooth is not the source of the problem. Only the Lenovo's equiped with the optional WWAN modem have the problem! usb 2-1.3: >Product: Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0: >Detected Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 AGN, REV=0x84 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1042054 Title: ThinkPad X220 does not boot 12.10 without hardware wireless kill switch being enabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1042054/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
