As confirmed on http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=12296138&postcount=1766 the problem is still there in kernel 3.6.
What can I do to help ? I have now been waiting for 8 months, hoping 12.10 will solve this, but it has not. So I am willing to do what is required to help with solving this issue.
