I did two upgrades in a row. Now that you mention it I seem to recall it had trouble upgrading NFS. I don't have any recollection of changing the script until I changed it. The usual reason for me fixing init scripts is bad exit codes (Pacemaker hates incorrect exit codes). But I'm quite certain I didn't have that problem with NFS.
I'm having troubles with NFS (v3) that I didn't have before - so this seemed like a likely cause - which would be why I started this process. I will try your suggestion tomorrow.
