Hi, I'm not sure if this is helpful or not, but just in case...

I discovered I had 2 instances of "syndaemon" running all the time. Once
I got rid of the instance that was started up from my "autostart"
folder, all seems to work ok.

I had added it to that folder myself a couple releases back but I guess
now in the current release it gets installed and started automatically
so it's no longer necesary to do it myself. At least this seems to have
solved my particular issue.
