Please post additional details. Have you installed beryl? Is the only
configuration done using the "System->Preferences->Desktop Effects"
icon? When it crashes, does the desktop still appear, or does it
require a reboot? Which video driver is being using? Which video card
is being used?
Also please attach the output of 'lspci' and upload your
/etc/X11/xorg.conf files.
